This notice explains how SkillCoded handles personal information when you read lessons, take quizzes, suggest a lesson, create an optional account, or contact us. Public lessons and anonymous quiz use do not require an account.

Cookies and similar storage
The public beta uses an essential secure session cookie for signed-in accounts and temporary first-party tab storage to avoid recording the same pilot event twice. No advertising or cross-site tracking is active. See the Cookie Notice for exact names and durations.
Who receives information
Access is limited to the operator and service providers needed to run SkillCoded. Hosting is provided by Hetzner Online GmbH in Falkenstein, Germany (European Union). Transactional email is provided by Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) with processing described as United States for account data, email metadata, logs and API records; delivery routing depends on the configured Resend sending region. Transfer position and safeguards: Application hosting remains in the EEA. Resend processing in the United States uses the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable..
We may also disclose information when legally required or when necessary to protect people, rights, and the service. We do not enable advertising or sell personal information in this public beta.
Retention
- Unverified registrations: 24 hours.
- Signed-in sessions: up to 90 days unless you sign out or the session is revoked.
- Anonymous pilot learning events: 24 hours; identified quiz history: 24 months after inactivity.
- Lesson suggestions: while under review and, if selected for curriculum consideration, for the associated content audit; other suggestions remain available through the account deletion workflow.
- Edge and application logs: 30 days; security events: 12 months.
- Account exports: 7 days; rolling backups: 7 days.
- Account deletion removes direct identifiers within 30 days and ages them out of backups within a further 7 days, except for a narrowly documented legal hold or record lawfully required longer.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction, or objection, and may withdraw consent. Contact skillcodedadmin@gmail.com. We verify requests proportionately and respond within the applicable legal period. You may complain to Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal (ANSPDCP), Romania.
Children
SkillCoded is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. Accounts require confirmation that the user is at least 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we suspend it and remove information that we are not legally required to retain.
Security and changes
We use encrypted transport, protected sessions, access controls, private storage, monitoring, backups, and incident procedures. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Report a concern to skillcodedadmin@gmail.com.
Material changes will receive a new effective date and appropriate notice.
